1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Cookbook Buddy (the "App"), you agree to abide by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the service.

2. Digitization, Intellectual Property, and Fair Use

Cookbook Buddy provides utility tools to index, photograph, and manage your personal recipes. By utilizing the app's scanning and digitization features on physical media, you expressly warrant that:

• You have the legal right, ownership, or permission to store and digitize the physical media you are photographing.
• Your digitized copies are created strictly for personal, private, and non-commercial use under applicable Fair Use doctrines.
• You will not use the App to illegally distribute or pirate copyrighted materials to the public.

We do not claim intellectual property ownership over any of your personal uploaded recipes or digitized content.

3. The AI Chef & Comprehensive Food Safety Waiver

Cookbook Buddy features an active "AI Chef" capable of scaling ingredients, translating instructions, and suggesting culinary substitutions. Artificial Intelligence systems are experimental and are known to "hallucinate" or provide factually incorrect information.

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

• The AI Chef is a novelty utility, not a certified dietician, chef, or medical professional.
• The AI may fail to identify dangerous cross-contaminations, allergens, or unsafe cooking temperatures.
• You assume all risk and liability for consuming food prepared with the assistance of the App. You must always use your own independent judgment regarding food safety, dietary restrictions, and potentially life-threatening food allergies.

4. The Cookbook Club Subscription & Marketplace Credits

If you choose to purchase the Seasonal "Cookbook Club" Subscription, your subscription will automatically renew every 3 months unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. As part of this subscription, you may be granted "Book Credits."

• No Cash Value: Book Credits are a digital utility mechanism isolated strictly to the Cookbook Buddy Marketplace. They cannot be exchanged for fiat currency or transferred to other accounts.
• Marketplace digital cookbooks purchased directly or redeemed via Credits grant you a revocable, non-exclusive license to access the content within the App. You are entirely restricted from attempting to extract, pirate, or redistribute the internal digital contents of Marketplace purchases.
• Refund Policy: Due to the immediate access nature of digital goods, all a-la-carte and Marketplace transactions are final and non-refundable once the digital book has been downloaded or added to your library, unless mandated by regional law.

5. Limitation of Liability

Cookbook Buddy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of digital data, ruined culinary ingredients, or personal injury resulting from reliance on the App's instructions.

6. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our App after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
